Today we are stronger than ever.
We beat back the National Security Personnel System, MAX HR, and A-76 contracting out. And we welcomed 45,000 TSA officers into the AFGE family.
We surpassed 290,000 members for the first time in our history, fought and ended the shutdown, and have grown our voice.
But anti-government, anti-worker threats are also stronger than ever.
A hostile Congress seeks to outsource our jobs, gut our retirement security, and slash our paychecks. Now corporate-funded politicians are coming after our union’s right to exist.
We will not stand by as our livelihoods, communities and the American Dream were under attack.
More than 700 AFGE leaders came together in Orlando. We brought our vision for a strong shared future and our best ideas. We challenged ourselves to step up and act boldly and with urgency.
The Big Enough to Win plan united AFGE leaders at all levels to:
- Organize more members to become stronger.
- Build our legislative and political power.
- Strengthen every local.
- Increase quality and quantity of training and communication.
It’s Time to Act
We face unprecedented challenges. But together we can build a future where fairness and dignity for all working families are protected by a thriving labor movement with AFGE members leading the way.
GOAL: Build our strength in numbers
When we grow our union, we build our bargaining and political power, send a strong message of unity, and ensure we have the resources to win.
